Steal a Base - Steal a TAco

Taco Bell is giving away tacos. As a promotion tied into the 2008 MLB World Series, Taco Bell is giving free tacos for everyone in America. Here's a quick break down of how it works:

One taco per person/ per day, as long as the game features a stolen base. The tacos can only be redeemed on 'redemption day' (October 28th for games 1 thru 4 of the World Series) and (November 3rd for games 5 thru 7).

So if Chase Utley steals a base in game 1 of the World Series, be sure to visit your local Taco Bell on the 28th for your free taco. If he steals a base in game 2, tough luck because you only get one taco. Either way, its still free food, and you can't beat free food.

North White High School Baseball Update

Okay, so many of you may not know, but my big brother coaches the North White baseball team. He's got himself a very talented squad this year, and has accumulated a 7-3 record as of today. I'd thought I would post an update of their last few games.

W Tri-County Away 6-5
W Tri County Away 7-6
W North Newton 2A Home 5-3
L South Newton Away 5-7

They also beat rival Twin Lakes. It looks like they could really make a run for the sectional and conference titles this year. Good luck and I'll update this in the near future.

Baseball Picks

Here's my picks for this year.

AL Pennant Winner – Los Angeles Angels (I just feel that they have the mojo to win, and it's not bad have Vlad on the roster.)

NL Pennant Winner – Colorado Rockies (By now, Rockies' pitchers have figured out how to pitch at home and are just as unstoppable on the road.)

2008 World Series Champion – Colorado Rockies (Beat the Angels in 6)

AL MVP – Vladimir Guerrero (He continues to tear up the league.)

NL MVP – Hanley Ramirez (Hanley is the best player in baseball right now)

AL Cy Young – James Shields (Underrated behind Kazmir, but primed for a big year.)

NL Cy Young – Brandon Webb (He struggled in spring training, but will get his stuff together for the season.)

AL Rookie of the Year – Alexei Ramirez (Middle infielders are great picks for this award.)

NL Rookie of the Year – Jayson Nix (see note above.)

AL Comeback Player of the Year – Dontrelle Willis (He still has his stuff, and now he has a new setting.)

NL Comeback Player of the Year – Kerry Wood (Great stuff for the reliever spot.)
